Originally from Scotland, Bristol is my adopted home where I live with my Irish husband and our two cheeky wee girls. There is a fiery amount of Celtic spirit running through our household which inspires our love of storytelling and creativity.
I have always treasured photographs and my Brownie badge in photography remains a prized possession. I studied photography at university and since then have maintained an active interest throughout a ten-year career as a primary school teacher. I enjoy working closely with children, using photography to capture their independent, individual and unpredictable spirits in all their glory, whether that is covered in mud during a play at the park or blowing out the candles on their birthday cake.
I specialise in natural shots of family life as it truly is: the chaos, the smiles, the mess, the joy and the love. With two children of my own, photography allows me to pause, observe and capture those perfect and not so perfect moments. The early years can pass by too quickly in a sleep-deprived haze, but a photograph allows a moment to live forever.
